CLAREMORE, Okla. – No. 3 Rogers State softball (31-3, 10-0 MIAA) capped off the weekend homestand with a sweep of Central Missouri (9-26, 2-10 MIAA) on Indigenous Peoples Day at the Diamond Sports Complex on Saturday.

GAME ONE – RSU 8, UCM 0 5 Innings

The first game of the day began as a pitcher's duel with both starters refusing to give a up run in the first two frames.
Â
The Hillcats broke the game open in the third inning as they exploded for seven runs.
Chelsea Spain got things started as she drove in
Faren Walker with a RBI single to center. Spain later scored on a RBI bases loaded walk to
Abbey Rogers.
Nicole Price crossed home on a wild pitch.
Jaylan Gibson came in on a sacrifice fly from
Bridgett Morales.
Elexis Watson uncorked on a three-run blast off the scoreboard in right center plating
Lana Gass and
Callie Yellin.

RSU sealed the 8-0 win adding a run in the fifth inning.
Rebecca Bell scored on a RBI single by
Lana Gass to center.

Andrea Morales (18-1) was nearly untouchable as she earned the complete game shutout striking out 10 in 5.0 innings and scattering two hits. Sadie Parks (3-6) took the loss.

GAME TWO – RSU 3, UCM 0

The Hillcats wasted no time in the second game jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Chelsea Spain scored the first run of the game on an error by the left fielder.
Jaylan Gibson later crossed home on a RBI single through the left side of the infield from
Abbey Rogers.

The game then turned in to a pitcher's duel for the next four innings as neither starter gave up a run.
Â
RSU tacked on a final run in the sixth inning to claim the 3-0 victory.
Tailee Reding came in on a RBI single through the left side of the infield from Spain.

M'Kayla Hillman (10-2) was excellent in the circle earning the win after throwing a no-hitter through five innings, and
Andrea Morales (2) earned the save working the final 2.0 innings with five strikeouts and no hits. Gentry Wishard (2-6) took the loss.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Friday, April 8 as they travel to St. Joseph, Mo. to begin an eight-game road trip against Missouri Western. First pitch for the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m.
