HAYS, Kan. – Rogers State women's basketball (10-14, 6-12 MIAA) fell 78-49 on the road against No. 4 Fort Hays State (20-3, 14-3 MIAA) on Thursday.

Jordan Lewis led the Hillcats with 10 points as well as four rebounds, two steals and an assist. Both
Kloe Bowin and
Katrina Christian put up nine points apiece, with Bowin adding two rebounds and Christian adding four rebounds.

The first quarter was close to begin with both teams trading leads early on. After the Tigers took the first lead of the game at 4-2, RSU responded and took their largest lead of the game at 10-6. Unfortunately, FHSU answered back by closing out the period on a 10-0 run to take a 16-10 lead in the second quarter.

The Hillcats continued to fight back in the final 10 minutes of the half as they were able to trim the deficit down to three points multiple times, with the last time coming at 24-21 with five minutes left in the half. Once again though, the Tigers overpowered RSU going on an 11-0 run to carry a 35-21 advantage into the locker room.

The second half was all FHSU as they boat raced the Hillcats in the second half 43-28. They took their largest lead of the game at 78-46, and eventually won 78-49.

RSU will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 12 as they travel to Kearney, Neb. to face off against Nebraska-Kearney in the regular season road finale. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
