TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Rogers State women's soccer (5-7-6, 2-5-4 MIAA) dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 decision to Northeastern State (7-3-8, 4-3-4 MIAA) on the road on Sunday in the season finale.

Sarah Ovalle found her way onto the scoresheet with her first goal of the season on the day.
Cambree Towle made five saves on 15 shots faced.

The first half was an even battle with both sides getting offensive opportunities. Both sides took six shots in the period with RSU making two shots on frame compared to NSU's one. In the 18th minute,
Sarah Ovalle broke the scoreless tie and gave the Hillcats an early 1-0 lead as she found the back of the net off an assist from
Amaris Jasso.

Things began to turn in the second half as the RiverHawks cranked up the offensive and defensive pressure. In the final 45 minutes, NSU outshot RSU 9-3 with six shots on goal compared to just one. The RiverHawks scored the equalizer in the 70th minute with a shot off a free kick to level things at 1-1. They went on to take the lead 2-1 in the 82nd minute off a corner kick and sealed the win.
