ST. JOSPEH, Mo. – Rogers State women's soccer (4-5-6, 1-3-5 MIAA) fell 1-0 on the road to Missouri Western (5-7-3, 3-4-1 MIAA) on Friday.

Tiffany Brittan was solid in goal as she made two saves on 17 shots faced and only allowed the lone goal.

In the first half, the Griffons piled on the offensive pressure on the Hillcats. MWSU outshot RSU 10-5 with the Hillcats actually making three shots on goal compared to just two. The RSU defense held the Griffons scoreless in the opening 45 minutes. The Hillcats best scoring opportunity came in the 33rd minute as RSU earned a penalty kick, however the MWSU goalie saved
Andrea Egerer's shot.

In the second half, the Griffons cranked up the defensive pressure while continuing to attack on offense. MWSU outshot the Hillcats 7-1 in the period with both making one shot on goal. Unfortunately, the Griffons broke the scoreless tie and took the 1-0 win in the 80th minute with a goal.

The Hillcats will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 16 as they travel to Maryville, Mo. to face off against Northwest Missouri. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
