CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State women's soccer fell in their conference opener to the visiting Washburn Ichabods 1-0 on Thursday evening at Soldier Field.
Highlights
- Maggie Brown took the first shot of the contest for the Hillcats five minutes into the first half, but was unsuccessful as she missed right of the target.
- The Ichabod's would have a strong offensive run, as they would have two shots in the 6th and 8th minutes but were unsuccessful as both shot missed high of the target.
- After a ball was misplayed by goalkeeper Cambree Towle as she ran out to intervene a shot attempt, Tara Lynch found open space and scored the only goal of the contest from the right side of the penalty area in the 31st minute.
- The Ichabod's would control possession time over the Hillcats for the remainder of half, as they went into the locker room with a 1-0 advantage.
- The Hillcats with an offensive onslaught to begin the second half, as Brown and Watters had two shots on goal with in the first 10 minutes of action.
- Washburn would generate two shots off of free kick attempts.
- Four of the next six shots would go for the Hillcats, but Brown, Sydney Connelly, and Reagan King were unable to connect.
