Hillcats Fall to Lions

Box Score Claremore, Okla. – The Rogers State women's basketball team couldn't erase at 12-point halftime deficit, falling to Missouri Southern 84-65 at the Claremore Expo Saturday afternoon.

Bailey Kliewer led the Hillcats with 13 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Lewis and Katrina Christian joined Kliewer in double figures with 12 and 10 points respectively.

The Hillcats opened play on a 4-0 run but the Lions roared back with a 10-0 stint to hold the advantage halfway through the first quarter. MSSU led 17-7 going into the second quarter but RSU chipped away at the deficit and regained the, 25-24, lead with four minutes to play in the half thanks to a Christian pull-up trey.

The Lions took over in the final minutes of the half, using a 17-4 spurt to close out the half up, 41-29.

In the second half, the teams traded buckets to start the third period but MSSU used a 15 – 2 run to put the game out of reach for the Hillcats.

The Lions shot 51 percent from the field and 53 percent from behind the arc with Lacy Stokes leading all scorers with 18 points.

Rogers State returns to the hardwood Saturday, December 18, taking on MIAA opponent Washburn in Topeka, Kansas at 4 pm. Listen to the game live on RSU Radio 91.3 PM.
