CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State Softball team fell to Oklahoma Christian 4-3 in the series opener on Friday at the Diamond Sports Complex.
After trailing three, the Hillcats tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-RBI double off the wall in left center by
Bailey Killough, scoring
Jaylan Gibson and
Taylor Malett.
However, the visitors would score the winning run in the top of the seventh with a leadoff double and then an RBI single after a sac bunt moved the go-ahead run to third.
The Hillcats took the lead in the bottom of the first inning with a lead-off home run from
Tailee Reding, as she knocked the 2-2 pitch over the left field fence.
Oklahoma Christian tied the game in the second with a solo home run. The Eagles took the lead in the fourth inning with two runs, one curtsey of an error from RSU.
The Hillcats will look to rebound on Saturday as Rogers State hosts Oklahoma Christian in a doubleheader to close the regular season. First pitch is set for noon after senior day at 11:45 a.m.
