TULSA, Okla. - The Rogers State women's basketball team lost 80-40 in an exhibition game against Oral Roberts University to close out the calendar year on Tuesday.

The Hillcats were able to keep the game close in the first half, but the Division I program would take control of the game in the second quarter and then pull away in the second half for the win.

Rogers State kept pace with Oral Roberts in the first quarter. The Hillcats would be down by just three going into the second quarter with a score of 16-13.

In the beginning of the second quarter, Oral Roberts would go on a 10-0 run that would put the Hillcats in a double-digit deficit for the rest of the game.

The Hillcats would have two players tie for leading scoring in the game. Sophomore
Vanessa Gajdosova and Freshman
Bailey Kliewer would each have nine points. Kliewer would also lead the team in rebounds with eight.

Darian Jackson would finish with eight points and would also have three steals in the game.

Alicia Brown would finish second in rebounds with seven. Brown would also score six points and have three assists for the Hillcats.

The team would shoot 31 percent from the field and 17 percent from three-point range.

The Hillcats will start the new year on the road against Missouri Western on January 4. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at the MWSU Fieldhouse.
