CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State Men's basketball team defeated Randall University 90-82 on Friday. The Hillcats took the lead on their second possession and never trailed in the game.
Senior
Gabriel Ferreira recorded his first career double-double in the game with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both were career highs for Ferreira. He also led the team in points for the day and tied for the most rebounds.
Senior
Christopher Miller also recorded his first career double-double for the Hillcats finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds, which is a career high.
The Hillcats would play well in the first half reaching a lead of 22 points before going into the half ahead 51-32.
At the start of the second half the Hillcats would start slow allowing Randall to go on a 7-0 run in the first 5 minutes of the half. The 19-point lead would be shrunk down to a deficit of 7 with under a minute to go in the half.Â
The deficit would prove to be too much for the Saints to come back from as the Hillcats were able to hang on to the lead and run out the clock.

Marques Sumner, Juniors
Brewster Peacock and
Darraja Parnell, and Freshman
Jett Sternberger would all finish in double figures for the Hillcats, totaling six players in double-digits. Sumner would finish with 15 points, Sternberger with 14, Parnell with 12 and Peacock with 11.
Sumner would also set a career high in rebounds with 9 in the game, falling one shy of a third double-double for the Hillcats.
Senior
Tavian Davis would set a new career high with 9 assists in the game. Davis' assist tally is tied for fifth all time in assists in a single game at Rogers State. Davis would also have 4 rebounds, two steals and two points.
Junior
Cole Kinnamon and Freshman
Michiah McQuarters would record their first baskets of the season. Kinnamon finished with 2 points and McQuarters had 3.
The Hillcats would outscore their opponent in the paint 42-28 for the game. The Hillcats bench would also play a role as they outscored the Saints, 41-12.
Rogers State would shoot 47 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point range in the game. Randall was 45 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the arc in the game.
The Hillcats will travel to Lawton, Oklahoma at Aggie Gym to take on Cameron University on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
