Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late DBU Goal Downs Hillcats, 1-0

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Visiting Dallas Baptist scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute to defeat the Rogers State women's soccer team, 1-0, on Saturday (Sept. 24) at Soldier Field for the first home loss of the season for RSU.

DBU's Emma Durain headed home the winning tally as her shot from 12 yards arced over RSU goalkeeper Tayler Stover and dropped under the crossbar for the goal in the 81st minute. The cross was sent in by Katelyn Havard, who got the assist.

After the Patriot goal, the Hillcats pushed forward with numbers; however, an offside call ended their best chance to put in the equalizer.

The Hillcats were organized in the backend, holding the Patriots scoreless for more than 80 minutes. The backline of Addy Pritchard, Korie Martin, Megan Bell and Jasmine Guerra limited the opportunities for the Patriots.

Alexis Pryor provided a spark as a substitute as she totaled two shots, including one shot on target. Substitute Madison Zeller tallied one shot on goal as well.

The Patriots tallied 18 shots with many of those opportunities late when the Hillcats were pushing forward. The Hillcats finished with three shots, including two on goal.

Stover went the full 90 minutes in goal and was superb, making 10 saves for the second straight game.

Prior to today's 1-0 loss, the Hillcats were unbeaten at home in their four previous home contests at 3-0-1, including a 1-1 draw to No. 24-ranked St. Edward's on Thursday.

The Hillcats (4-3-1, 1-2-1) take to the road for their next three games starting at Oklahoma Christian on Thursday (Sept 29) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at 5 p.m. Live stats will be available.
