DALLAS, Texas – The Rogers State women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at Dallas Baptist on Thursday night (Oct. 13) at the Patriot Soccer Field.
The Patriots scored early in the 15th minute and expanded their lead to 2-0 with a tally in the early part of the second half.
DBU's Errica Everson registered the game-winning goal in the 15th minute as she deflected in a header from Kristina Williamson for the early 1-0 edge. The score remained 1-0 after the first 45 minutes; however, the Patriots extended the score to 2-0 in the third minute of the second half. Williamson scored in the 48th minute with a header off a ball from Geneva Martinez.
For the 90 minutes, DBU totaled a 16-2 advantage in shots. The Patriots posted eight shots in each half. In shots on goal, DBU put eight on target with one shot on goal for RSU.
Lexi Ellingsen started the game with a shot on goal in the sixth minute of the first half.
Amanda Jones got the other shot for the navy and red in the second period.
Tayler Stover made the start in goal and totaled six saves in 90 minutes while allowing the two goals.
The Hillcats (5-7-1, 1-7-1) end its 2016 road schedule on Saturday (Oct. 15) at No. 14-ranked St. Edward's. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. in Austin, Texas. The two teams tied in the first meeting this season in Claremore. Live stats and video will be available for the contest.
