DENTON, Texas- The Rogers State women's soccer team continued its road stint on Tuesday, suffering a 3-0 loss to Texas Woman's University at the TWU Soccer Field.

The teams were gridlocked at zero until the 33rd minute of play when the Pioneers broke the scoreless tie as Alisa Velesquez buried her first goal of the season.

The Hillcats looked to equalize before the break with a shot by
Paige Pontarolo in the 45th minute that missed just wide. The Pioneers took the one-goal advantage into the locker room at intermission.

Katlin Moran gave RSU an opportunity to knot the score as she fired a shot in the 68th minute but Pioneer goalkeeper Ariana Morrison made the save to keep the Hillcats scoreless. TWU doubled its lead in the 78th minute but the Hillcats continued to battle and Pontarolo had an opportunity to put RSU on the board in the 87th minute with a shot the skid just wide.

The Pioneers sealed the win in the 88th minute with a goal by Rachel Peters.

Tayler Stover suffered the loss in goal for the Hillcats, allowing three goals while making 10 saves on the day.

Morrison registered her second win of the season in goal for TWU making two saves.

Rogers State (0-2) completes its three-game road stint on Thursday with a trip to Joplin, Mo. to take on Missouri Southern at 7 p.m. The Hillcat will open the home portion of their schedule on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. as they take on Oklahoma Wesleyan.Â
