LUBBOCK, Texas – The Rogers State women's basketball team saw its two-game win streak snapped on the road as Lubbock Christian picked up an 81-63 win in Heartland Conference play Thursday night at Rip Griffin Center.

The Hillcats got out to a quick start taking a 7-4 lead in the first four minutes on back-to-back baskets from Jordan Evans and Mikaila Newton giving RSU its only lead of the game.

The Lady Chaps answered with the next 10 points of the game doubling the Cats 14-7 over the next three minutes. LCU then used a 15-2 run breaking the advantage wide open, 29-11, and closed the opening half in front, 39-23, as the Hillcats shot just 23 percent in the frame.

The RSU deficit swelled to as many as 24 points in the second half as LCU continued its strong shooting performance. The Hillcats battled to close the gap, 55-39, using a stretch of three minutes where they held the Lady Chaps scoreless while tallying eight points of their own.

LCU closed out the game, 81-63, for the home victory remaining tied for the Heartland Conference lead with a 4-1 record behind four players in double figures with Haley Burton netting a game-high 17 points.
