RSU Women Shutout at St. Edward's

AUSTIN, Texas – The Rogers State women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 shutout at Heartland Conference leading St. Edward's Monday afternoon at Lewis-Chen Family Field.

After holding the offensively-potent Hilltoppers scoreless, the Hillcats defense finally broke in the 39th minute as SEU took advantage of a free kick opportunity. Gracen Jacks put SEU on the board with her third goal of the season getting past goalkeeper Teri Cocke to the far post.

Jacks wasted no time in extending the lead adding her second of the match just under four minutes later giving SEU a 2-0 lead at intermission.

Julia Harrison scored in the 56th minute adding an insurance goal and the Hilltoppers continued to press until the final buzzer netting header goals in the 87th and 90th minutes for the 5-0 victory.

Cocke made eight saves in the loss for the Hillcats while SEU won its fourth-consecutive game to remain undefeated in conference play at 4-0 moving to 8-4 overall holding a 13-0 margin in shots on goal for the match.
