SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - The Rogers State women's soccer team couldn't hold onto a late lead on the road as John Brown battled to a 3-1 win on Tuesday afternoon.
The Hillcats let a 1-0 lead slip away as the Golden Eagles netted three goals in the final 10 minutes of the contest.
After battling to a 0-0 draw in the first half, the Hillcats grabbed the advantage for the first time this season in the 68th minute of play as senior Melissa Subu found the back of the net off of a Kealani Chaidez corner kick.
RSU clung to the one-goal lead until the 81st minute as Nicole Kosin tied the game, sneaking the ball past the defense near post. Just five minutes later, JBU tallied the go-ahead goal off a free kick by Casey O'Brien. The Golden Eagles sealed the win in the 89th minute with a goal by Laura Garcia.
JBU out shot the Hillcats 18-to-5 on the afternoon. Kristen Morency tallied the win in goal while Jordan Harris suffered the loss, making five saves while allowing three goals.
Rogers State (0-4) returns to the pitch on Sunday as the Cats travel to Midwestern State at 2 p.m.
