Hillcat Men Rattle St. Mary's, 3-1

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The Rogers State men's soccer team tallied its first Heartland Conference victory on Monday afternoon with a 3-1 win over St. Mary's.

RSU scored three second half goals to overcome a 1-0 first half deficit. St. Mary's struck in the 34th minute of the game as Victory Luna scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Jack Wolf.

The Rattlers held the one-goal advantage through intermission but RSU found the equalizer in the 78th minute of the game. Danko Kenjic put the Hillcats on the board as he converted a penalty kick. It was the Zumun, Serbia native's second goal of the season.

RSU took the lead in the 82nd minute as Kaspars Kokis scored his second goal of the season off a cross from Dylan Beaird. The Rattlers put all 11 of their players in the box during a corner kick in the final minute desperately trying to score the game tying goal. The Hillcats were able to clear the corner kick and Danko Kenjic passed the ball up the field to Necas Collins who passed the ball into an open net in the 89th minute of play.

Joey Arnold (1-2) tallied the win in goal for the Hillcats as he allowed one goal while making six saves. Patrick Kasperitis suffered the loss as he allowed three goals while making two saves.

Rogers State (3-5-0, 1-1 HC) return to action on Saturday as the Hillcats host St. Edward's at 5 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the Hillcat Network at www.rsuhillcats.com/live.
