FRANKFORT, Ky. – The magical run in the 2012 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship came to an end Saturday evening for the Rogers State women's basketball team as No. 19-ranked Georgetown College topped the Hillcats, 70-63.

The Tigers built a six point advantage in the opening nine minutes of the game but RSU was able to take the lead at 28-27 with 3:14 remaining off a Larielle Giles field goal off an Ariani Silva assist. Coach Amy Williams' squad closed out the final stretch of the first half outscoring GC 7-5 as RSU entered the intermission in the lead, 35-32.

In the second period, Georgetown freshman point guard Angie Lawrence took control of the game. The Mount Vernon, Ky. native scored 20 of her 27 points in the second stanza as Lawrence went 11-of-13 from the free throw line for the game.

The Hillcats were able to build its largest lead of the game at six points in the opening two minutes of the second half but a 9-0 run over two minutes gave Georgetown the lead. RSU would immediately tie the game on an Ariani Silva 3-pointer but the Tigers, led by Lawrence, would build a nine point deficit.

RSU would make one final push with an 8-0 hot streak that put the Cats down by one, 58-57, with 5:19 remaining. The Tigers closed out the game outscoring RSU 12-6 and punched their ticket to the Fab Four with the 70-63 victory.

Angie Lawrence led all scorers with a game high 27 points for Georgetown (24-9). Devon Golden tallied 11 points while Jessica Waddle finished with 10 as the Tigers went 24-of-30 from the charity stripe.
