MARSHALL, Mo. - The Rogers State women's soccer team recorded a 1-1 double overtime draw at Missouri Valley College on Thursday evening.
The two teams combined for 12 shots in the opening half and went into the break tied at zero.
The Hillcats came out strong in the second half and struck first with a goal in the 46th minute. Junior Veronica Subu sent a ball through the defense to freshman Jordan Beasley who beat Vikings goalkeeper, Nicole Goad.
MVC answered in the 67th minute as Breann Kinworthy crossed the ball to Henny Yngve who finished the shot to knot the score 1-1.
Neither team was able to come up with the game winning goal after 110 minutes of play. RSU goalkeeper Chelsea McMullin made nine save on the night and allowed one goal. Vikings keeper Nicole Goad made one save and allowed one goal.
Rogers State (1-0-1) will return to action on Tuesday as they host Avila University at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on www.rsuhillcats.com.
