Wailand struck out five while allowing just one ball out of the infield to record the second no-hitter in school history. The Davenport, Iowa native improved to 2-0 on the season with the 13-0 run-rule victory in game one. The Hillcats put the game away early in the fifth. White doubled to right field and Taran Threet scored. Ashlee Fauchier bunted for a base hit to put runners on first and third. The Eagles made a pitching change but that didn't stop sophomore Linsey Curtis from belting a grand slam to push the Cats lead to 13-0.
The Hillcats retired the side in the bottom of the sixth and the final batter struck out looking to end the game.
Wailand allowed just three walks while striking out five and using nine ground outs and one fly out to complete the no-hit bid.
