CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State women's soccer team stayed undefeated on the year with a 2-0 victory over McPherson College on Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field.
With 13 minutes gone in the first half, freshman Demi Mullin recorded her third goal of the season to give the Hillcats the 1-0 advantage. Mullin collected the ball off a defensive deflection and drilled it past McPherson goalkeeper Molly Whitwell.
RSU out-shot the Bulldogs 12-2 in the first 45 minutes but Mullin's goal was the lone score in the half.
Junior Chelsea Myers capped off the scoring for the Hillcats in 58th minute. Junior Morgan Saliba served a ball down the line; Myers ran onto it and beat the goalkeeper one-on-one to give the Hillcats a 2-0 cushion. The goal was Myers second of the year.
Freshman goalkeeper Chelsea McMullin earned her second shutout of the season, making four saves.
The Hillcats had 10 shots on goal in the game compared to the Bulldog who had five.
After winning a trio of home matches, the Hillcats (4-0) take to the road on Monday, Sept. 20 to face Avila College at 2 p.m. The game is the first of five straight road matches for the Cats.
