CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Rogers State women's basketball team cruised past Ecclesia College 88-43 on Thursday night at the Claremore Expo.
With the win, RSU swept the series over the Lady Royals. The Cats drained EC 86-32 in their season opener on Nov. 8.
RSU opened the first half with an 11-0 run. The Hillcats controlled the game from wire to wire and led by as many as 48 points. Logan Froese recorded her second double-double of the season with 17 points and a career-high 18 boards. The Claremore, Okla. native went 7-for-7 from the charity stripe and shot 50-percent from the field.
The Hillcats used a 15-1 run midway through the first half to get a comfortable 28-7 lead over the Lady Royals. EC drained two free throws before intermission to trail 39-20.
In all, four players finished with double-digit scoring. Candice Stewart contributed 14 points; Angie Criner added 11 points and Andrea Miles rounded out the group with 10 points. All 11 players got in on the scoring as the bench contributed 34 points.
Leading the Royals in the point's column was Sarah Snider with 13.
The Hillcats forced a season-high 33 turnovers with Miles nabbing a career-high seven steals. The Cats shot 77-percent from the free throw line and 42-percent from the field.
Rogers State (7-1, 1-2) is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Siloam Springs, Ark. to face John Brown at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on RSU Radio 91.3 and rsuhillcats.com.
