FORT WORTH, Texas - The Rogers State men's basketball dropped an exhibition at Texas Christian University, 70-53 on Tuesday evening at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. 

The Hillcats fell behind 10-0 to start the game but sophomore Alex Ewings broke the Hillcats dry spell with a jumper at the 16:53 mark. Senior Chris Francis hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to 15-8 with 13:43 to play in the half but the Horned Frogs countered with back-to-back layup's by J.R. Codot. Senior Matt Kellogg brought the deficit to eight with a bucket from long-distance (19-11).

Joey Twilley hit a jumper to make it a 35-24 game with 50 seconds left in the half. Ronnie Moss added a layup just before intermission to give TCU a 37-24 lead at the break.

Alburey Doss opened the second half with a layup but the Horned Frog returned with three quick points.  The Hillcat cut the lead to seven points (40-33) with a 3-pointer by Francis followed by a layup by Doss.

With 12:22 to play, Francis hit a 3-pointer to bring RSU within four points of the lead (45-41). TCU rallied with a 6-0 run and kept the Hillcats at arm's length the rest of the way.

TCU edged the Hillcats on the boards with 47 rebounds compared to the Hillcats who pulled down 33 boards.

Four Horned Frogs finish with double-digit scoring performances. Garlon Green recorded 15 points and Amric Fields added 11 points while Moss and Hank Thorns contributed 10 points apiece.

RSU was led by seniors Francis and Kellogg. Francis poured in 15 points while Kellogg added 14 points.  The senior duo drained four treys apiece on the night, accounting for all the Hillcats's points from behind the arc.

The Hillcats (0-1) return to Claremore on Friday, Nov. 5 as they open their home slate at the Expo against Dallas Christian College at 7 p.m.
