SHAWNEE, Okla. - Four different players got in on the scoring act for Rogers State as the Hillcats outpaced St. Gregory's for a 4-1 victory Friday afternoon in Shawnee.
Brett Jones and Robert Yang scored first half goals while Henrique Sousa and Vitor Mantovani added second half tallies. Antony Moore netted the only goal for SGU in the 53rd minute of the match, breaking up the Cats shutout bid.
RSU outshot the Cavaliers, 9-8 and made the most of their five shots on goal. Goalkeeper Sean Surridge earned the win with two saves. Tyler Wythe surrendered three of the four goals for SGU.
Rogers State (11-2, 3-1) moved into sole possession of third place in the Sooner Athletic Conference with the victory. The Hillcats will travel to Siloam Springs, Ark., Wednesday to face John Brown University. The match is slated for 3 p.m.
