SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - A golden goal in double overtime gave John Brown a 2-1 victory and sent Rogers State to its second conference loss Wednesday in Siloam Springs, Ark.
Â
Jodi Knack lifted the Golden Eagles to the win with the finishing strike in the 114th minute. It negated a valiant effort by Bailey Lynn and the RSU defense to hold on for a tie. The Hillcats were on their heels for much of the match as JBU fired 32 shots, including 13 shots on goal.
Â
RSU took a 1-0 lead into the half after Tiffany Roberts found the back of the net in the 32nd minute on an assist from Lauren Hager. Amanda Reed tied the score with a goal in the fourth minute of the second half. Lynn did her best to keep JBU off the scoreboard from that point, finishing with 11 saves. Goalkeeper Faith Thurman recorded three saves in 116 minutes of duty for the Golden Eagles.
