Â
The Hillcats breezed through a 7-2 victory in the opener, then scored twice in the first inning and held on for a 2-0 win in the nightcap. RSU ran its winning streak to seven games with the sweep and beat the Drovers in all five meeting between the two clubs during the regular season.
Â
No. 11 Rogers State (40-8, 14-5) will hit the road Thursday for a doubleheader at No. 5 Oklahoma City. The Hillcats return home Friday for Senior Day at the RSU. The Cats will host Northwestern Oklahoma State in a make-up doubleheader slated for 1 p.m.
GAME ONE
Â
RSU scored runs in four consecutive innings en route to a 7-2 win in first game of the day.
Â
Marie Gaudet scored the first run of the game on a two-out single by Megan Wood in the bottom of the third inning. The Hillcats made it 2-0 in the fourth when Kelli Dunagan lifted a sacrifice fly to deep right field to score Mandy Clark. RSU blew the game open with four runs on four hits in the fifth. Lillian Nevarez ripped a two-RBI double to left and Gaudet followed with a bunt single to plate Chasidy Austin. Megan Wood scored the final run in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out single up the middle by Austin.

GAME TWO
Â
The Hillcats scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and shutout the Drovers for a 2-0 victory in the nightcap.
Â
Three USAO miscues led to two unearned runs in the opening frame. Nevarez belted a hard grounder through the legs of the shortstop to start the inning and Gaudet followed with a bunt that was mishandled by the pitcher. Dunagan squeezed home Nevarez to make it 1-0 Hillcats. Tyler then rocketed a shot right back at the pitcher, Felicia Gourley. A dazed Gourley picked the ball up and made a late and errant throw up the first baseline as Gaudet scored from third.
Â
Dunagan made the two lead stand up over seven innings. She completed her seventh complete game shutout with six strikeouts and one walk. Dunagan (26-7) scattered five hits as USAO stranded seven base runners in the nightcap. Tyler tallied two of the Cats six hits.
