Diamond Cats Swat Evangels, 6-0

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Rogers State banged out 13 hits and held Mid-America to only two as the Hillcats shutout the Evangels 6-0 in Oklahoma City Thursday.

Sophomore Josh Walker took a no-hitter into the sixth inning when Brad Workman ended the bid with a single to center field. Walker (4-2) earned the win with seven innings of solid work. He allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out four. Randy Jones and Brett Trzcinski pitched back-to-back scoreless innings to keep the shutout intact.

RSU added a run in the second when Ryan Salsbury ripped a two-out single up the middle to score Brandon Denton. Greg Speed picked up an infield single in the third, stole second and scored on a grounder off the bat of Blake Kelley. Zach Hamby made it 4-0 Hillcats with a single to score Kelley.

Kelley and Hamby cranked back-to-back doubles in the top of the seventh to push the lead to 6-0. Denton led the offensive attack with three hits. Hamby and Salsbury each finished with two knocks.
