Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Soccer Cats Stunned by SNU in Overtime, 3-2

BETHANY, Okla. - Rogers State positioned itself perfectly for the biggest win of the season. However, No. 15 Southern Nazarene and Rachel Eguren had other plans.

The Hillcats held a 2-1 advantage heading into the final minutes of Saturday's conference match in Bethany, Okla. Eguren sent the game to overtime when she notched the tying goal with just 2:27 remaining in regulation. She added the game winner 2:15 into the overtime period, allowing the Crimson Storm to escape with the victory and complete an unbeaten conference schedule.

Stephanie Royse gave SNU the early lead with a strike in the second minute of the match. The lead held until early in the second half when RSU senior Carrie Ritz tied it 1-1. Sophomore Tiffany Roberts put the Cats in front with an unassisted goal in the 71st minute, but the lead wouldn't hold.

RSU goalkeeper Bailey Lynn posted 11 saves while playing all 92 minutes in goal. Erica Brown had three saves and two goals allowed for the Crimson Storm.

Rogers State (12-5, 6-4) completed the conference portion of its regular season schedule in fourth place. Conference tournament pairings will be announced after the regular season concludes Tuesday. The Hillcats will travel to Winfield, Kan., for their final regular season contest Monday afternoon. The rescheduled match is slated for 2 p.m.
