MUSKOGEE, Okla. - The Rogers State men's soccer team fell behind early and couldn't complete a second half comeback, falling 3-1 to the University of Texas - Brownsville in Muskogee on Saturday.

The Hillcats trailed the Scorpions 3-0 at the half but turned in a strong second half effort under tough weather conditions. Brett Jones gave RSU a spark with a second half goal on an assist from Kirk Madsen.

"I was really proud of the way our kids bounced back and played well in the second half," RSU Coach Derek Larkin said.

The loss was the first of the season for the RSU men. The Hillcats are now 2-1-0 on the season and will open up conference play at home next week. RSU will host Oklahoma Christian at Soldier Field on Tuesday. The match is slated for an 8 p.m. start.
