SHAWNEE, Okla. - Rogers State scored three second half goals to rally past St. Gregory's for a 3-2 victory at Fr. Victor Roberts Field in Shawnee on Saturday.
Â
The Hillcats trailed 1-0 at the half before Brett Jones, Des Fitzgerald and Salim Nelson put the Cats on top with a goal apiece in the final period. RSU goal keeper Sean Surridge had several key saves down the stretch to preserve the win.
Â
It was an important victory for the Hillcats who managed a 2-2 tie with the Cavaliers on Sept. 18. However, Saturday's contest counted as the lone conference match between the two schools, giving RSU a boost in the league standings.
Â
RSU improved to 7-1-2, 3-0-1 in conference play with the win. They will return home on Tuesday to host Oklahoma Baptist at Soldier Field. The match is slated for 7 p.m.
