BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – The Rogers State men's golf's 'A' team finished the Tulsa Cup in a tie for 12th place with a score of 888 (+24), while the 'B' team placed 10th with a scorecard of 883 (+19) at Indian Springs Country Club on a rainy and cloudy Tuesday.
In the team race, Central Missouri edged Harding by two strokes with a final score of 852 (-12). Pittsburg State finished third at -2, followed by Arkansas-Fort Smith at +1 and Northeastern State at +4.
Harding's Jose Arzu (-8) claimed the individual title, defeating Central Missouri's CJ Phillips in a three-hole playoff.
Miguel Mora, who represented the Hillcats on their second team, continued his hot start from the opening rounds to finish a career-best for eighth (tie). The sophomore finished with a three-round score of 213 (-3).
Also, on the 'B' team, freshman
Ben Field II jumped four spots, finishing with a three-round total of 219 (+3). Freshman
Thomas Richardson (+5) ended the tournament tied for 38th, while sophomore
Bo Gentry (+16) tied for 86th and senior
Maddox Bullen (+20) is tied for 95th.
On the 'A' team, freshman
Kobsak Phisitbuntoon (+1) had an outstanding final round, jumping 61 spots after shooting six under to finish tied for 18th. Junior
Dylan Ros (+7) tied for 53rd, senior
Aiden Deng (+8) tied for 57th, sophomore
Callum Brown (+10) tied for 66th and senior
Tyler Collier (+17) tied for 89th.
RSU men's golf will begin the Spring season on Feb. 9-10 at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, for The Houston Classic.
